SAILING NORTHERN MICHIGAN
Why keep your new Jeanneau in Northern Michigan?
The clear, teal and blue Caribbean-esque water can come as a surprise to many first-time visitors to Northern Lake Michigan. A lack of tides and water depths exceeding 700 feet in some areas make navigation simple. The Great Lakes really are salt-free, which keeps your boat looking newer much longer than salt-water. In the summer, daylight lasts well past 9pm, giving you ample time to sail to your destination.
Michigan boasts more coastline than any of the lower 48 states and our cruising area offers the best of what this freshwater paradise offers.
The locals are friendly and welcoming. Harbor Masters have been known to loan the marina car out to cruisers looking for supplies. Sailors feel welcome and are treated like family.
